Soundplate Acquires Audio Technology Company Stemmer, Launches Improved AI Mastering Suite

Independent music company Soundplate has acquired Stemmer, the audio technology company behind many popular online mastering services.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Independent music company Soundplate has acquired Stemmer, the audio technology company behind many popular online mastering services.

The acquisition follows a long-standing partnership between the two companies.

Founded in 2020 by music producer Sam Goetz, Stemmer powers AI music mastering services for over 20 music platforms and websites. By acquiring the company, Soundplate brings Stemmer's award-winning audio algorithms entirely in-house.

To maximize the technology's potential, Soundplate’s engineering team extracted Stemmer’s core algorithms and built a completely new, proprietary serverless mastering API from the ground up.

This lightning-fast serverless architecture now powers Soundplate’s consumer-facing suite, which includes a completely redesigned Online Mastering tool, a dedicated mastering engine for vinyl releases and the recently launched AI Stem Splitter. The rebuilt backend drastically reduces processing times and gives Soundplate total control over development velocity and audio quality.
